My appearance in the world of painting is the most sudden and irrational there is. Despite having a painter father, who undoubtedly gave me some ‘creative genes’, this ‘magic’ was born late in me. Important was a chance encounter with one extraordinary work of the artist Lucian Freud. In it, a face full of feeling and incredibly legible in transmitting and representing all the emotions, the intense mood, the thoughts of the person portrayed. A shock. I get it. I had to paint! I had to paint people! I had to investigate! I had to do it not as a painter but rather like a psychologist who studies the condition of man. A path that thanks art helps me understand life better.
